Sweet Girl presents Black Sesame Dumpling in Ginger Tea

The seasons are changing from summer to the rainy season. The number of seasonal allergies and colds are increasing. Today, I’ve got a dessert that can be served as a preventative measure against colds. It’s black sesame dumpling in ginger tea. Check out the ingredients and recipe.

Ingredients

Glutinous rice flour

Cold water

Palm sugar

Black sesame seeds

Salt

Brown sugar

Sliced ginger

Water

Start by making the dumpling wrapper dough. Put the glutinous rice flour in a bowl and gradually add cold water. Mix and knead the flour and water to make a dough. When the dough is ready, put it in a bowl and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Leave the dough at room temperature.

Grind the black sesame seeds. Melt the palm sugar in a pan over medium heat. When the sugar has melted, add the ground black sesame and salt. Mix together and turn off the heat.

To make the ginger tea, boil water in a pot over low heat. Then add the brown sugar and sliced ginger and heat for 10 minutes. While waiting for the ginger tea to be ready, make the black sesame dumplings. Take a small ball of dough and press it to make a flat dough sheet. Put the black sesame filling in the middle of the dough sheet. Wrap the dough around the filling to make a dumpling ball. Continue with the rest of the dough and sesame mixture.

Boil the dumplings. The dumplings are cooked when they float to the surface. Serve the dumplings with the ginger tea. All the ingredients are available at any Big C Super Center or you can order them from our online store here.
